RESIDENTIAL GAS FITTING
Residential Gas Fitting
If it runs on gas Euro Plumbing can install it, service it and repair it! All gas fitting installations must be installed in compliance with the relevant codes and standards. Make sure you ask your gas fitting installer for a relevant Gas fitting licence. Failure to do so risks the insurance cover of the building and places the installer in danger of censure by the plumbers, gas fitters, and drainlayers board, and also at risk of court action by the owner of the building in case of an insurance claim. The NZ building Act requires the certifying gas-fitter to self-certify their work and lodge a copy of the Energy Work certificate (PS3 and gas certificate) with the PGDB.

Installation Checklist
To ensure a smooth and cost-effective gas appliance installation, clients can save significant time and hassle by reviewing a simple pre-installation checklist. The process begins with confirming that the chosen appliance is suitable for your specific requirements and, most importantly, is officially approved for use in New Zealand by checking the energy safety service website. It is also essential to verify that the appliance is compatible with the gas type available at your property, as this is a fundamental requirement for safe and proper function.
Once the appliance itself is deemed appropriate, the focus shifts to the proposed installation site. A successful installation depends on the physical location having an available gas supply, the ability to properly install flues, and access to a power source if the unit requires it. For safety and compliance, it is crucial to verify that the area allows for the necessary clearances from combustible surfaces and provides adequate air for both ventilation and combustion. By gathering this key information, including ensuring there is sufficient access for future maintenance, an accurate quote can often be provided without an initial site visit, saving you time and money.
